Today’s surf competitors will hope that a surprise bump in the swell persists for another day, as yesterday’s scores noticeably benefited from improved surf conditions. The women’s contest will continue to roll along with four heats of Round 4 action this morning as the women’s field has been narrowed to twelve surfers.
The Men’s main event will feature eight heats of “no-lose” surfing today, but don’t let the “no-lose” moniker fool you--the Men’s competitors will continue to battle as they look to carry momentum into Friday.
In addition to the Men’s and Women’s surf events, the Junior Men will take the water for the four-heat Quarterfinals. Keep an eye on Huntington Beach local Kanoa Igarashi who will compete in both the Men’s and the Junior Men’s competitions today.
Outside of the water, BMX practice and Skate practice will run in the bowl and surfing legends Tom Curren and Mark Occhilupo will appear in the ASP display tent for an autograph session.
From 3:00p-3:45p the Expression Session will be held in surf stadium in support of the great people at the non-profit organization Life Rolls On.
