Day 7 - Morning Report

By: Adam Espino -- Huntington Beach

The field has narrowed to 24 competitors in the Men’s Prime main event at the 2014 Vans US Open of Surfing.  Today’s Round 4 surfers will battle it out in eight head-to-head heats for the chance to go up against the tournament’s top competitors in Round 5.

In addition to the Men’s Prime competition, the Women’s Pro Junior Semifinals will be held at 11:30am in surf stadium, featuring eight top young competitors.  Seven surfers will look to topple WCT #18 Tatiana Weston-Webb, who is the clear favorite in the Junior Women’s competition.

The bowl will host its first day of Men’s Skate and BMX contests with Van Doren Invitational BMX Prelims going off at 11:00am followed by Skate Qualifiers at 4:00pm.

If you are interested in a change of pace, cruise through surf stadium at 12:20pm to catch the smooth creativity of longboarders during the Vans Joel Tudor Duct Tape Invitational longboard contest.
