Final Day - Morning Report

By: Adam Espino -- Huntington Beach

It all comes down to this--on the final day of the 2014 Vans US Open of Surfing every heat is a must-watch.

The day will begin with the four head-to-head heats of the Men’s Prime Quarterfinals.  After an incredible performance yesterday, all eyes will be on Jordy Smith when he takes the water in Heat 2 against Adam Melling.

Women’s WCT Semifinals will run immediately following the Men’s heats.  With world #1 Carissa Moore out of the competition, the four remaining women--Fitzgibbons, Gilmore, Wright, and Manuel--will be hungry to earn WCT points and close the gap between themselves and Moore in the World Championship Tour standings.

12:20pm - 1:30pm will be championship hour in surf stadium with the Women and Men competing back-to-back in their respective finals.

With the completion of skate yesterday, the bowl will host a day full of BMX action.  The Van Doren Invitational BMX contest and the BMX High Air contest will run from 11:30am - 12:40pm.
