SWITCHING IT UP: VANS REBEL JAM

It takes a lot to pull-off something 'different' with a BMX contest, yet when long-time  Vans family member Andy Zeiss became disillusioned with the nature of the European contest scene roughly 10 years ago, he managed to come up with a format that was  fun, credible and actually unique.  

This year, Vans is re-introducing the contest platform on the beach by inviting the most endemic brands and riders to be involved in a non-traditional street contest.

CONTEST FORMAT

An invitational contest with some of the most influential BMX street riders in the world. The Vans Rebel Jam celebrates the BMX community by hosting a non-traditional street contest celebrating style and originality.  This year Vans partnered with Cult to add some extra flavor to the street course design.

Format Considerations

• Gender inclusive heats (Judged separately)
• Contest judged  by riders and invited VIP’s
• Prize Purse $40K
• Additional Awards: 1, 2, 3, Best Trick, Hardest Trick, Style, Creativity, Highest Bunny Hop, Highest Air
• Jam format heats
