Huntington Beach, Calif./USA (July 24, 2018) — The 2018 Vans US Open of Surfing presented by Swatch returns to the southside of the Huntington Beach Pier this summer to celebrate the world’s best action sports talent in surfing, skateboarding and BMX competitions from July 28 through August 5, 2018. One of the largest action sports festivals in the world, the nine-day event features a full calendar of engaging and creative activities for all ages, including customization workshops, movie premieres, vendor exhibitions and giveaways, live music, and art exhibitions. The entire event is free and open to the public.

Beginning Saturday, July 28, the Vans US Open of Surfing will kick off with Vans’ annual Stoke-O-Rama surf celebration. Hosted by the non-profit Positive Vibe Warriors Foundation, Stoke-O-Rama is a free, kids-only surf event featuring friendly surf sessions by age division, along with fun beach activities for local families to enjoy. Stoke-O-Rama helps to raise awareness and funds for local youth water safety and ocean education programs around the world. Through the Positive Vibe Warriors Foundation, all the proceeds from this year’s Huntington Beach Stoke-O-Rama event will be donated directly to the Huntington Beach YMCA in support of community beach activities.


The highly-anticipated summer event will feature an exceptional entertainment experience, showcasing the world’s best action sports athletes on a global stage while also hosting a variety of hands-on events and creative workshops for attendees.


SURF: This year’s surfing competitions include the highly-anticipated World Surf League (WSL) Women’s Championship Tour (CT) event, the men's WSL Qualifying Series (QS) 10,000 contest, and the men's and women's Pro Junior event.

With nearly a decade of incredible longboarding competition history in tow, the Vans Joel Tudor Duct Tape Invitational returns to Surf City to showcase the first-ever all women’s Duct Tape exhibition, inviting 16 of the most creative and talented female longboarders from around the globe to express their style on the famed Huntington Beach break from Thursday, August 2 – Sunday, August 5



SKATE: Vans Park Series (VPS), the premier competition in park terrain skateboarding for men and women, meets in Surf City for the third qualifying stop on the 2018 VPS Pro Tour. Featuring a new expanded women’s Pro circuit, the Vans Park Series welcomes all prospective women competitors to enter for their chance to skate in the World Championships. The Vans Park Series Pro Tour will determine pivotal Men’s and Women’s rankings in the race to the Championships, while the Vans Park Series Continental Championships slates to crown a new Americas champion, challenging qualifying regional men and women competitors to claim glory on their home turf.



BMX: The Vans BMX Pro Cup Series, the world’s definitive platform for BMX park terrain competition, returns to Surf City USA on August 3 & 5, gathering the world’s best professional men and women BMX riders for the highly-anticipated second stop of the 2018 Pro Tour.
